Residence halls at NEBRASKA are always open during breaks - including fall break, Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break. You’re welcome to stay in your room during any break period or come and go as you please.

Summer Break
Summer break is Saturday, May 9, 2026 through Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Move-In 2026 begins Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Fall semester starts on Monday, August 24, 2026.
UNL Offices will be open throughout the summer, Monday through Friday business hours. Closed on May 25 and July 3.
