Residence Hall Poster Submission

Thank you for your interest in advertising in the residence halls.

We accept posters/flyers from University of Nebraska–Lincoln affiliated departments and organizations, as well as outside vendors. All posters/flyers must advertise a specific program, service, or event open to all college students. For specific information and directions, please select one of the options below based on your affiliation with the university.

Access to the University Housing office is currently limited due to construction. Please leave any posters to be distributed in the residence halls in the bin beside the elevator on the first floor of the Willa Cather Dining Center.

Option 1: University Affiliates

Open to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and University of Nebraska–Lincoln departments.

There are 117 bulletin boards within our buildings – this includes bulletin boards on each floor and also in public areas. As a university affiliate, you may provide up to 117 flyers to be distributed to our residence hall communities.

For ease of distribution, we require all flyers to be routed and approved by the central Residence Life office. Please count out the required number of flyers, use the Posting Tags document below, and deliver them to the Residence Life office on the third floor of the Willa Cather Dining Center (WCDC), located at:

Residence Life Office
University Housing Office
530 N. 17th St.
Lincoln, NE 68588-0622

When you drop off your flyers, you will be asked for your contact information, as well as for further information about your event/service.

For event-related flyers, posters must be received 10 days ahead of the advertised event.

Posters cannot be any larger than 11x17.

In general, we will not post flyers for off-campus housing facilities or flyers promoting/suggesting alcohol or drug use (including events hosted at such establishments).

Posters are removed once the event advertised has concluded or after 30 days for non-event posters.

Please note, Residence Life reserves the right to determine what is appropriate for posting in the residence halls.

If these policies are violated, restrictions may be put in place on your group’s ability to post flyers in the future.

Option 3: Internal Residence Life

Internal Residence Life

Open solely to internal staff and leaders within Residence Life for department specific Residence Life events and initiatives.

Given your role within Residence Life as a staff member or University Housing student organization leader, you are eligible to post flyers on both floor bulletin boards and public bulletin boards with proper permission.

For RAs and Local Hall Government leaders: If posting within your specific hall only, you need to receive supervisor/advisor approval. You supervisor/advisor will provide you an image to attach to your flyers to indicate approval and share with you the number of flyers you will need to print. You are responsible for posting the flyers and ensuring they are removed after the event. If using this process, you do not need to seek approval from the central Residence Life office.

For All-Hall Events, RHA, and NRHH: Since the scope of these flyers is for all housing building, please utilize the process outlined in Option 1.
