• Why did you become an RA?

  To help ease the transition between high school and college and help residents put their best foot forward.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  Mock Trial, UNL Ballroom Company, Chess Club, Filipino Students Association

• Favorite place on campus?

  Outside near Love Library. That’s where all the squirrels are!

Clara Perez

Computer Science, Business and Psychology Minors

• Why did you become an RA?

  I enjoy being a leader in my community and being a source of support and resources for other students.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  First Generation, Computing for All, STEM Connect, Research, McNair Scholars, Braven, MBSA, MENA, and TRIO SSS.

• Favorite place on campus?

  Taking walks on East Campus.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Walking around the street festival.

Dylan Anderson

Business Management, Music Minor

• Why did you become an RA?

  To help students adjust to this environment and seeing them find their place on campus.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  BathtubDogs Acapella group, Big Red Singers, Clifton Strengths, Conference Assistant, Fangineer with Nebraska Football.

• Favorite place on campus?

  When you see everyone on campus sitting outside the union playing spike ball or doing homework.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Before a final to walk underneath Archie the Mammoth and giving his foot a high-five!

• Why did you become an RA?

  Having a safe and welcoming community in your living space is a fundamental part of the college experience.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  ASUN, Digital Humanities research, Reformed University Fellowship, Big Red Readers

• Favorite place on campus?

  The union hammocks under the trees.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Smacking Archie's foot for good luck!

Garrett Smith

Accounting and Management, Psychology Minor

• Why did you become an RA?

  Help residents adjust to the college lifestyle and provide them support/guidance.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  Business Honors Academy, Clifton Strengths Builders Program, Honors Peer Mentor, Nebraska Honors Program.

• Favorite place on campus?

  The College of Business, where I’m able to pursue my passion of business on a daily basis.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Husker football.

Kelsey Kurian

Psychology and Management

• Why did you become an RA?

  My RA made my first year so easy. I felt cared for and welcomed. I want to have that same impact for those who felt like me coming into college.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  The Red Keys Acapella, Asian Student Union, Pride in Business, Dean’s Associate for COJMC

• Favorite place on campus?

  I love taking walks around campus, seeing all the trees and campus squirrels.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Giving Archie’s paw a high-five before an exam or anything stressful for good luck!

Fisheries and Wildlife, Bio Sciences and Urban Forestry Minors

• Why did you become an RA?

  I wanted to learn more about city campus since my major is east campus focused. It seemed like the best way was to build a community as an RA on city campus.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  Wildlife Club, Herpetology Club, First Gen, East Campus Starbucks Employee

• Favorite place on campus?

  Where the squirrels are!

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Going to the Dairy Store every weekend to hang out and have an awesome snack.

Zoe Olson

Criminology, English Minor

• Why did you become an RA?

  To help those coming to campus have a familiar face and someone to ask any and all questions.

• What other groups are you involved in while being an RA?

  Barista at Tazza and Starbucks, ambassador for Yerba Mate and Cappuccino.

• Favorite place on campus?

  I love my secret study spot. I won’t say where; it’s a secret after all.

• Favorite Husker tradition?

  Game days are seriously so fun; the energy on campus is completely different!
