Bed Bug Detection

Bed Bug Detection

University Housing uses several methods to help detect the presence of bed bugs. Below are brief descriptions and/or links to each type of detection used by University Housing:

  • Students and guests - We depend on our students to notify us of any suspicious activity. If a suspicion should arise, students are asked to report the incident to the front desk of their residence hall.
  • Facilities staff - University Housing trains staff to recognize and assess bed bug activity through observation and student interviews to determine if there might be a bed bug issue. Once determined, Facilities staff will call professional exterminators to eradicate the pest.
  • Professional exterminators - University Housing uses professional extermination companies to help visually identify and eradicate bed bugs.
  • By using one or more of the above methods, University Housing is able to cross check and verify potential bed bug issues with a high degree of certainty in order to provide students and guests peace of mind.
