"Welcome from Husker Country!! My name is Val Anderson and I am a second year Residence Director. After my positive experience as a graduate student, I was looking for a place that would continue to challenge, embrace, and support me, both professionally and personally; coming to the University of Nebraska has done that for me. Some of the professional opportunities I have been a member of include: Being a part of a UMR regional committee; advising outstanding student groups on and off campus, serving on departmental and campus wide committees; and the relationships that I have developed during my time at UNL - all of these things make my experience wonderful!

The University of Nebraska and community of Lincoln is a great place to work and live. I've found that the university environment has a great deal of pride and tradition, especially during Husker football season. Being able to work in an environment where tradition is strong is very rewarding. I encourage anyone who wants a fun, challenging, and unique experience to come to Husker country. I've enjoyed the people, the culture, and the UNL experience. Regardless of where I've been, or where I will go, having the opportunity to work at the University of Nebraska will definitely leave a positive impression on me."
