Learning Communities

Learning Communities

Do you want to be part of a unique, small community that will encourage you to succeed? Would you like to blend social and intellectual experiences in an exciting and supportive environment? If this interests you, choose to live on one of our academic interest floors.

Freshmen who choose a University Learning Community floor will have the advantage of taking classes with other freshmen on that residence hall floor. As soon as you make that choice, we automatically pre-register you for the class or classes that are part of that University Learning Community. These classes are regular freshmen classes which meet University graduation requirements, and you will share them with other freshmen in your University Learning Community. You will walk in to class the first day with friends beside you. You will return to your residence hall knowing a friend right next door is studying for the same class.

Additional information on University Learning Communities is available from our Admissions Office and can also be found on the University Learning Communities home page.

Honors Program

Students in the University Honors Program have easy access to academic advising, a computer lab, and study areas of the Honors Program Office. Acceptance in to the Honors Program is required. Students will take at least one Honors course per semester. For more information see Honors Program site.
