The Intercultural Aide Program is designed to build a comfortable and inclusive space for international students in the residence hall by providing initial support and ongoing programmatic efforts for international students.
Areas of Responsibility
Develop a comprehensive greeting program for international students.
This includes helping create items/welcome kits for incoming students, greeting international students as they arrive, disseminating information/providing support for international students in the crucial first weeks, connecting students to the university orientation efforts, and creating some programmatic efforts for their entertainment/acclimation in the first several days on campus.
International student programming.
Each team of Intercultural Aides will lead one large-scale program while coordinating the support of all the other programs together. These programs intend to acclimatize our international residents and encourage relationships between international and domestic students. These programs would also help develop a connection to domestic students, and build a space for traditional American students to immerse and learn about other cultures.
