Dining Service Aide (Cashier)

Job Description:

The cashier position for University Dining Services duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • manage customer cash, cashless transactions, and operate the computer POS system.
  • operate the ID system for dining room entry for customers
  • responsible for reconciling the cash drawer and making deposits of money collected at meals they are working
  • act as a public relations liaison with the customers.
  • communicate customer concerns, needs and equipment malfunctions to the management staff.
  • support positive staff relationships with all departments in Housing and the complex.
  • required to have a Level II Food Handler's Permit within 30 days of the start of their employment.

Employment Period: semester/year, summer, etc.

Starting Wage: $6.75

Additional notes about the position:

  • Schedules vary during the academic year and the summer, your schedule could be to work as early as 6:30 am to as late as 10 pm.
  • Full-time work may be available during the summer.
  • Ability to schedule working hours Monday - Sunday between 6am-10pm.
  • All training is provided.
  • Two weeks notice is required when resigning your position.
  • If you are unable to work your shift, you are responsible for finding a substitute.
  • If needed, you are expected to work through the final exam period.
