Good Nutrition Counts (gNc)

WOWWellness Greetings from University Dining Services and the gNc (good Nutrition counts) program. Our Wheel of Wellness was developed in conjunction with UNL's Campus Wellness Initiative and the Health Education Department, University Health Center with the goal of helping our students, staff, faculty and guests achieve the highest degree of wellness possible in each of their lives.

So.....are you ready to be WOW'd? Look for how you can be WOW'd beginning Sept. 9, 2009!

If you would like to be involved with gNc please contact Pam Edwards, Assistant Director - University Dining Service by email or 472-9045.

The definition of "wellness" according to UNL's Wellness Initiative is:

"...an interactive process of becoming aware of and practicing healthy choices to create a more successful and balanced lifestyle."

WellnessWheelThe Wheel of Wellness uses a wellness model that includes the following 7 elements of wellness:

  • Emotional
  • Environmental
  • Intellectual
  • Occupational
  • Physical
  • Social
  • Spiritual

In addition, we all know that healthful nutrition practices need to round out the wellness model and should be included in a total wellness program. | Find out more about the 7 elements of Wellness |
